If severe (AHI ≥ 30 per hour) the knight in shining armor is the CPAP machine delivering a constant airstream to keep the pathways of breath open. For those with minimal (AHI < 5 per hour), mild (AHI ≥ 5, but < 15 per hour), or moderate (AHI ≥ 15, but < 30) the knight is an oral sleep appliance. This appliance pushes the jaw forward opening the airway. This is a great option for those who prefer their armor a bit less conspicuous. Think of it as a dental retainer with a PhD in airflow management.
